My love of cougars blossomed almost two decades ago with my introduction to the magic desert of Big Bend National Park.  There, I talked to people about their sightings of the mysterious cats and hunted for mountain lion sign, all to no avail.  Then, after one of my trips, I stumbled on a magazine ad promoting a mountain lion expedition to study the big cats.  Even though the trip was only weeks away, I got on; and my love for the mountain lion was born.
